The goal of NASA’s Orion Multipurpose Crew Vehicle Program is to provide NASA with a safer, more reliable space transportation capability for crew transport in the quest for human space exploration.
OUR PURPOSE
The ASRC Federal team was tasked to provide technical services and operation support to human spacecraft assembly, test, integration, and production within the Operations and Checkout facility and other facilities near Kennedy Space Center, Florida. These efforts are to support NASA’s overall Orion MPCV Program as well as the entire Lockheed Martin Civil Space Program.
Our Solutions
Our workforce is uniquely qualified to perform highly-skilled manufacturing and testing services. When the Orion Program urgently required optics experts, it was our team that brought those experts to the program in 24 hours. Along with our partner, Lockheed Martin, we further developed a program with Eastern Florida State College to provide its Aerospace Technology students an opportunity for full-time, paid apprenticeships on the program — introducing the next-generation of engineers to NASA spaceflight. We further developed a partnership with Brevard CareerSource to generate approximately 5,000 resumes in a database ready to deliver operational excellence in support of the mission.
Within 24 hours, recruited optics experts urgently required by the Orion Program.
Provided the necessary team that quickly learned SAP and prevented schedule disruption.
Delivered support to the spacecraft assembly, test, integration, and production needed for an integrated, verified, validated, and acceptance tested Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle spacecraft.
