Since 1985, the Rotary National Award for Space Achievement (RNASA) has been a prestigious aerospace industry awards event to recognize, honor and celebrate U.S. achievement in space. Lauren Henrichsen, an ASRC Federal Mechanical Technician, supporting the Artemis mission at Kennedy Space Center was presented the 2024 RNASA Stellar Early Career Award for her exceptional performance as a technician working on the Orion spacecraft assembly and integration.
Lauren’s journey into aerospace began during her high school Aviation Fabrication and Assembly program, igniting her passion. Graduating in 2023, she joined ASRC Federal’s Orion Apprentice Program, becoming one of its youngest members. From day one, Lauren showcased exceptional work ethic and professionalism, quickly integrating into the team and excelling in tasks ranging from thermal protection systems to mechanical installations.
“Lauren’s dedication and talent have been evident since she joined our team. Her commitment to excellence, meticulous attention to detail, and deep-seated passion for aerospace have truly set her apart as a critical member of our team at Kennedy Space Center. We are incredibly proud of her well-deserved recognition with this award,” said Scott “Scooter” Altman, ASRC Federal space operating group president.
Lauren has seamlessly transitioned from her apprenticeship to a full-time role as a Flight Mechanic, deepening her expertise in aerospace. Concurrently, she is pursuing her degree in the Aerospace program at Eastern Florida State University, furthering her commitment to excellence in the field.
