ASRC Federal announced today that it was selected by Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), to help develop and operate an Advanced Fire Control Ground Infrastructure (AFCGI) for the U.S. Space Development Agency (SDA) Advanced Fire Control (AFC) missions. Kratos leads this five-year, $116.7 million contract as the prime. ASRC Federal will work with Kratos and provide operational staffing and sustainment capabilities for the Demonstration Operations Center (DOC) to support advanced fire control demonstrations.
SDA’s advanced fire control demonstrations aim to evolve Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture capabilities to deliver precise, real-time coordination for tracking operations in space for effective responses to advanced missile threats, including hypersonic missiles. The work will be performed in Huntsville, Ala.
“We look forward to working with SDA and Kratos to bolster the country’s defense against advanced missile threats,” said David Ziegler, ASRC Federal senior vice president of national security space in the space group. “Our expertise in high-end engineering and mission operations for U.S. government space and defense missions will help AFCGI explore and validate new technologies to address threats quickly and efficiently.”
