This fall, ASRC Federal donated $25,000 to fund 169 classroom projects in 157 schools in partnership with DonorsChoose, a non-profit organization that allows individuals to donate directly to public school projects across the United States. More than $11,000 in funding went to school programs in Alaska, the home state of ASRC Federal’s parent company and many of its Alaska Native shareholders.
“I am grateful to ASRC Federal for allowing employees to have such a direct impact in our communities!” says Susan Westenbarger, program administrator working on an Environmental Protection Agency contract. “This is helping so many communities get additional educational support.”
The DonorsChoose mission is to make it easy for anyone to help a teacher in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education. ASRC Federal launched a pilot program with DonorsChoose in 2021 and was met with enthusiastic participation from our employees across the country.
The 169 classroom projects represented an array of science and STEM activities as well as projects encouraging children’s creativity and reinforcing positive behavior in the classroom. Click here to see the list of funded projects.
