ASRC Federal secured a position on NASA’s new Omnibus Multidiscipline Engineering Services III (OMES III) contract as a subcontractor to Space & Technology Solutions, the DBA for Space Networks Solutions LLC, which is a joint venture with Intuitive Machines and KBR.
ASRC Federal subsidiaries ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) and Space Coast Aerospace Services (SCAS) will perform both hardware and software engineering — including the development and validation of new technologies to enable future space and science missions for the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) program and NASA’s Exploration and In-space Services (NExIS) projects division, such as On-orbit Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (OSAM). Work will take place at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
ASRC Federal’s expected value will be up to $124M of the maximum $719M indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract. The five-year contract includes multidiscipline engineering services for spaceflight, airborne and ground system hardware and software for the JPSS and OSAM-1 missions.
JPSS operates next-generation operational environmental satellites designed to circle the Earth over the poles to provide global observations that serve as the backbone of both short- and long-term forecasts, including those that help us predict and prepare for severe weather events. When complete, OSAM-1 will robotically refuel satellites in space and allow for in-space assembly and manufacturing.
“Our team is eager to expand our work with NASA on full lifecycle systems and hardware engineering for the JPSS and NExIS missions,” said Jennifer Felix, president and CEO of ASRC Federal. “It is inspiring to know that the work we support will inform critical emergency weather decisions and help achieve technological milestones like fully robotic refueling and maintenance for U.S. satellites.”
