Congratulations to Scott “Scooter” Altman, ASRC Federal’s Space Operating Group President, who has been named the 2023 WashingtonExec Pinnacle Award Space Executive of the Year!
The program embodies the WashingtonExec spirit of highlighting successful executives and businesses saving money and fostering innovation for federal clients across the region. As President of the Space operating group, Scooter is responsible for the group’s financial and technical performance, providing strategic leadership, overseeing operating plans and delivering on commitments to NASA, NOAA and Space Development Agency customers. Before joining ASRC Federal, Scooter had a distinguished career with NASA and the U.S. Navy. He is a former astronaut and Astronaut Hall of Fame inductee who is a veteran of four space flights and commanded the final two servicing missions of the Hubble Space Telescope.
Scooter’s team oversees more than 40 space programs, spanning from Fairbanks, Alaska to Florida’s Space Coast. This award speaks to the tremendous performance those programs have achieved. Click here to view a video of Scooter receiving his Pinnacle award.
Scooter not only exceeds business goals but also passionately invests in the community, mentoring servicemen and women with American Corporate Partners (ACP), serving on the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation board, and dedicating time to speak to youth about STEAM careers, recognizing the future of space exploration rests with the next generation of leaders.
