The William J Hughes Technical Center located at the Atlantic City International Airport on the edge of Egg Harbor Township, NJ is the premier air transportation laboratory for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA.) This one-of-a-kind, world-class laboratory environment employs a diverse workforce of engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and technical experts dedicated to developing scientific solutions to current and future air transportation challenges.
OUR PURPOSE
The ASRC Federal and our Terminal and Technical Operations Contract team provides management, engineering, software/firmware design, production, installation, integration, and testing services to the FAA in a highly technical and modern environment. Our team of computer scientists, electrical and software engineers, technical specialists, program analysts, and documentation specialists support the maintenance and modernization of the FAA’s National Airspace System (NAS) – enabling the FAA to fulfill its mission to provide safe and efficient use of national airspace.
Our Solutions
Our team provides 24/7 support of the FAA mission to ensure a robust and high-performing air traffic management system. The ASRC Federal and our Terminal and Technical Operations Contract team provides support services to satisfy the Terminal and Technical Operations Second-Level maintenance requirement consisting of management, engineering, specific custom hardware, and software/firmware design, production, installation, and integration, testing, reporting, and documentation necessary to guarantee they can perform their vital mission of keeping our airways safe and secure.
Design, produce, test and integrate modernized tools for FAA’s primary communication system, Voice Switching and Control System (VSCS) including development of maintenance policy and procedures to ensure availability of the system 24/7/365.
Successfully resolved over 1,900 requests for assistance, including more than 370 site visits and 19 system restorations for the National Airspace System (NAS), 17 Initial Operating Capability (IOC) trips, and over 77 System Support Modifications to NAS equipment.
Developed, tested and implemented modern software products for the NOAA and FAA NextGen Weather Processor, improving the quality of traffic management decisions and reducing controller workload during severe weather.
