Evolving the Aegis Weapon System to Pace Ballistic Missile Defense Threats
CUSTOMER MISSION
The Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) mission is to deliver an enduring, operationally effective, and supportable BMD capability to defend the nation, deployed forces, friends, and allies, and to increase this capability by delivering evolutionary improvements as part of Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) upgrades.
OUR PURPOSE
The ASRC Federal team provided requirements analysis, computer program development, and integration test services in support of upgrades to the Aegis Weapon System. Our team configured the computer programs in preparation for delivery of the complete system to the U.S. Navy and land-based test sites. Aegis BMD 5.1 is certified and currently deployed on a number of U.S. Navy Destroyers.
Our Solutions
The ASRC Federal team provided requirements analysis, computer program development, and integration test services in support of upgrades to the Aegis Weapon System. Additionally, our team configured the computer programs for delivery to the Lockheed Martin Configuration Management Organization, which ultimately hands over the complete system to the U.S. Navy and land-based test sites. Aegis BMD 5.1 was certified in September 2018 and is currently deployed on many USN Destroyers.
Merged BMD and anti-air warfare into an Integrated Air and Missile Defense capability using COTS and open architecture technologies.
Developed more than 450,000 source lines of code on or ahead of plan.
Played a critical role in the evolution of tactical software for the Aegis Weapon System.
